Saúde Em Casa Seminar: Presentation and Dissemination of Results

On March 17, 2023, the Fundação Dr. José Lourenço Júnior, with the collaboration of ETP Sicó, organized the “Saúde Em Casa Seminar: Presentation and Dissemination of Results“. With the participation of the Saúde Em Casa team – Jéssica Pereira, Joana Fabião, Tânia Pinto and Diva Sarabando – the main objective of the seminar was to present the results of the project and the positive impact of interventions at home, in terms of health and well-being, in seniors.
At this event, in addition to face-to-face testimonies from some Saúde Em Casa users, were also Drª Alexandra Neves, Regional Representative of the Center of Portugal Social Innovation, Dr. João Paulo Pedrosa, Director of the Social Security District Center of Leiria and also the Mayor of Pombal, Dr. Pedro Pimpão.
The President of the Board of Directors of the Fundação Dr. José Lourenço Júnior, Isabel Vaz Serra, referred that «the future depends on this type of project, which allows “to grow old at home, with comfort, security and autonomy”» and reinforced that it is necessary «to start valuing institutions, not quantity, but for the quality of the services provided” and for the “innovative social responses”.
Finally, Isabel Vaz Serra said that «the methodology of the “Saúde Em Casa” project has been tested and validated” but funding from entities is essential to continue implementing this social response on the ground, which «responds to the challenges of the future» .
